1 MONTH PRACTICUM EXPERIENCE
As part of the Practicum module in Ngee Ann Polytechnic, I was attached to Little Footprints Preschool @ Tampines Blk 460.
Reflecting on my practicum, I better understand the importance of effective communication at work when communicating with teachers, parents and children. I was tasked to create developmentally and age-appropriate learning resources and lesson plans for Nursery 2 children. This experience allowed me to learn new skills and classroom management strategies for children of all ages.
6 MONTHS INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME
As part of the Year 2 Industry Attachment module at the Institute of Technical Education, I was attached to PCF Sparkletots Preschool @ Fengshan Blk 108 from September 2021 to March 2022.
We were required to design and implement 3 lessons for children on a chosen theme. I designed play kits for children to play with in their learning corners. I was able to gain valuable skills as an educator and classroom management strategies taught to me by my caring mentor during my internship.
Furthermore, I assisted teachers by contributing ideas for community involvement and setting up classroom decorations during festive celebrations. In conclusion, I was able to assist children in developing a positive self-image in themselves through positive reinforcements.
